The truth about your comfort zone
Your brain was made to keep you safe-it’s whole goal is for you to get cozy in your comfort zone.
We think of it our comfort zone as a place where we can shed the stresses of the day and be comfortable. We envision our mind changing out of work clothes, getting jammies on, and getting cozy on a couch.
But that’s not what really happens.
It’s actually filled with all the dreams that you don’t believe you can fulfill. It’s filled with doubt, second-guessing, and falling short. It’s filled with disappointment and you never really living up to your potential. It’s filled with regret, anger or resentment, frustration, and fear.
THAT’S what our comfort zone really is. But every day that’s what most people in the world choose!
I’m not sure why we even call it a “comfort zone.” I think we should start calling it a disappointment zone. Maybe then we wouldn’t want to stay there as much as we do, steeped in fear and doubt.
But there is a solution for daily living in your disappointment zone.
In order to be successful, you need to RETRAIN your brain to work FOR your success, not against it.
My brain’s default mindset almost ran my first business into the ground. Then I learned how to reprogram my brain to be an operating system to bring me success. 6 months later, I was booking our calendar so quickly I had to drastically raise my prices to throttle the demand.
How did things turn around for me so fast?
Instead of focusing on the external factors of my business: doing more styled shoots, attending more workshops, posting more frequently on poorly qualified leads in Facebook groups, etc, I focused on changing my thinking—my MINDSET. This changed everything.
Now I’m helping other women transform their business too. Mindset work may seem hard to quantify at first, but I promise you that without a proper foundation—a successful mindset—no amount of hard work will get you the results you really want.
